H.R. No. 1930

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Damon Austin Crossland has been named a sergeant
major in the Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets; and
WHEREAS, A native of El Paso, Mr. Crossland joined the corps
in September 2015, and during his tenure, he has distinguished
himself as a class representative, an assistant squad leader, and a
guidon; in recognition of his exemplary efforts, he was named a top
cadet in his sophomore year by Squadron One, Second Wing; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Crossland has also remained active at TAMU as
assistant director of the internal committee of Freshman Leaders on
Campus and as a flight officer and operations officer in the Special
Tactics Squadron, which presented him with the Most Outstanding
Candidate Award in 2016; he also received the Most Professional
Award from FLOC that same year; following his graduation, he plans
to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps; and
WHEREAS, Upholding his squadron's motto of "Second to None,"
Damon Crossland has demonstrated exceptional dedication,
leadership, and discipline as a member of the Texas A&M University
Corps of Cadets, and he may indeed take pride in this notable honor;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Damon Austin Crossland on being
named Second Wing Sergeant Major in the Texas A&M University Corps
of Cadets and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Crossland as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
