| WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the | ||
| passing of Esther Mae Williams on April 1, 2011, at the age of 76; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, Esther Williams was born in Mangham, Louisiana, on | ||
| December 2, 1934, the eldest daughter among 14 children; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She married Alexander Williams in 1958, and together | ||
| they shared a rewarding relationship that spanned more than half a | ||
| century; they were blessed with a son, Larry, and with the passing | ||
| years saw their family grow to include three grandchildren; in | ||
| addition, Mrs. Williams enjoyed the fellowship of many people as a | ||
| faithful congregant of Wesley United Methodist Church; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Esther Williams had a life that was rich in the | ||
| intangibles that matter most, and she is deeply missed by all those | ||
| who held her dear; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Esther Mae Williams | ||
| and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her | ||
| husband, Alexander Williams; to her son, Larry Williams, and his | ||
| wife, Yvonne; to her grandchildren, Marcus, Jaleesa, and Ariel; to | ||
| her six brothers and three sisters; and to her other relatives and | ||
| friends; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of | ||
| Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Esther Mae | ||
| Williams. | ||
