WHEREAS, Irene A. Armendariz of Austin is retiring as a | ||
member of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards on May 4, 2017, | ||
concluding nearly a decade of distinguished service to that body; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, Ms. Armendariz was appointed to TCJS by Governor | ||
Rick Perry in October 2007, and throughout her tenure, she played a | ||
vital role in advancing the agency's mission of establishing | ||
standards for the care and treatment of prisoners and for the | ||
construction, maintenance, and operation of county and municipal | ||
jails; and | ||
WHEREAS, An alumna of the University of Phoenix, | ||
Ms. Armendariz has also enjoyed a fulfilling career in the health | ||
care industry; she currently serves as senior vice president of | ||
operations for Cenpatico Behavioral Health and as a member of the | ||
board of Superior HealthPlan; she has further benefited her | ||
community through her efforts on the board of the Greater El Paso | ||
Chamber of Commerce and the allocation committee of the United Way | ||
of El Paso County; and | ||
WHEREAS, Irene Armendariz has served the State of Texas with | ||
great skill and dedication, and she may take justifiable pride in | ||
her many accomplishments as she embarks on the next exciting | ||
chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby commend Irene A. Armendariz for her service as a | ||
member of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards and extend to her | ||
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Ms. Armendariz as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
