R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Irene A. Armendariz of Austin is retiring as a
  member of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards on May 4, 2017,
  concluding nearly a decade of distinguished service to that body;
  and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Armendariz was appointed to TCJS by Governor
  Rick Perry in October 2007, and throughout her tenure, she played a
  vital role in advancing the agency's mission of establishing
  standards for the care and treatment of prisoners and for the
  construction, maintenance, and operation of county and municipal
  jails; and
         WHEREAS, An alumna of the University of Phoenix,
  Ms. Armendariz has also enjoyed a fulfilling career in the health
  care industry; she currently serves as senior vice president of
  operations for Cenpatico Behavioral Health and as a member of the
  board of Superior HealthPlan; she has further benefited her
  community through her efforts on the board of the Greater El Paso
  Chamber of Commerce and the allocation committee of the United Way
  of El Paso County; and
         WHEREAS, Irene Armendariz has served the State of Texas with
  great skill and dedication, and she may take justifiable pride in
  her many accomplishments as she embarks on the next exciting
  chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Irene A. Armendariz for her service as a
  member of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Armendariz as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
