R E S O L U T I O N
         
  WHEREAS, Members of the National Association of Insurance and
 
  Financial Advisors-Texas (NAIFA-Texas) are gathering in Austin on
 
  February 1, 2011, for their legislative day at the Capitol; and
         
         WHEREAS, Founded in 1925, NAIFA-Texas, formerly known as the
 
  Texas Association of Life Underwriters, is composed of more than
 
  3,000 members statewide; the group's mission is to advocate for a
 
  positive legislative and regulatory environment, enhance business
 
  and professional skills, and promote the ethical conduct of its
 
  members; and
         
         WHEREAS, The association currently benefits from the
 
  leadership and expertise of president Cylinda Clark, political
 
  involvement chairs Lane Boozer, LUTCF, and Kirk Haworth, CLU, ChFC,
 
  and the board of directors, who represent 287 years of association
 
  membership; and
         
         WHEREAS, NAIFA-Texas is a vital group of professionals who
 
  consistently work in behalf of consumers and businesses to advance
 
  financial independence and reliable insurance, and its legislative
 
  day provides a fitting opportunity to recognize its members and
 
  congratulate the organization on its 86th anniversary; now,
 
  therefore, be it
         
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 
  Legislature hereby welcome members of the National Association of
 
  Insurance and Financial Advisors-Texas to the State Capitol on the
 
  occasion of NAIFA-Texas' legislative day and commend its membership
 
  for the association's long and impressive history of achievements;
 
  and, be it further
         
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 
  prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the
 
  Texas House of Representatives.
