H.R. No. 1821

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Daniel Cox of Plano West Senior High School has been
named the 2019 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Plano
Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
WHEREAS, A special education instructor at Plano West, Daniel
Cox teaches applied and fundamental social studies and serves as
sponsor for Special Olympics Basketball and the Best Buddies
program; a dynamic and inspiring classroom teacher, he is also
respected by his fellow educators as a valued mentor and advocate;
and
WHEREAS, Daniel Cox exemplifies the passion, determination,
and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our best teachers,
and he has set a standard of excellence to which all in his
profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Daniel Cox on his selection as the
2019 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Plano Independent School
District and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success with his important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Cox as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
