| WHEREAS, DeLora Wilkinson of Houston has distinguished | ||
| herself through her achievements in the field of real estate; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Over the course of her 40-year career, Ms. Wilkinson | ||
| has held a number of sales and executive management positions; she | ||
| served as president of the Houston Association of Realtors in 1986, | ||
| and she has completed several terms on the board of directors of the | ||
| National Association and Texas Association of Realtors; in 2017, | ||
| she was appointed to the Texas Real Estate Commission as a broker | ||
| member, and she has further served the organization as a | ||
| commissioner and liaison to the Education Standards Advisory | ||
| Committee; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ms. Wilkinson is a former chair of the Houston | ||
| Northwest Chamber of Commerce, and she served on the Houston | ||
| Economic Development Committee of the Greater Houston Chamber of | ||
| Commerce; she was also the founding president of the Foundation for | ||
| the Arts and Cultural Enhancement and treasurer of the Texas | ||
| Independent College Fund Board of Directors from 1997 to 2004; in | ||
| addition, she has been involved in the Visions for Greater Houston | ||
| steering committee and the Adults Relating to Kids Group; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Among her many accolades, Ms. Wilkinson has | ||
| received the Houston Realtor of the Year award and the John E. Wolf | ||
| Citizenship Award from the Houston Association of Realtors, the | ||
| Omega Tau Rho Award and 40 year Emeritus Honor from the National | ||
| Association of Realtors, and the Citizen of the Year award from the | ||
| Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce; she holds Certified Real | ||
| Estate Brokerage Manager and Graduate, Realtor Institute | ||
| designations; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A leader in her profession, DeLora Wilkinson has | ||
| earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and clients | ||
| alike, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her | ||
| accomplishments; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby commend DeLora Wilkinson of Houston for her | ||
| achievements in the field of real estate and extend to her sincere | ||
| best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Wilkinson as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
