| WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Imogene | ||
| Cobbs of Mineola, who passed away on September 19, 2014, at the age | ||
| of 80; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born in Lott on August 4, 1934, to A. W. and Eddie | ||
| Holle, the former "Jean" Holle grew up with two sisters and three | ||
| brothers; in 1952, she married John Cobbs, with whom she shared a | ||
| rewarding union of more than six decades; the couple became the | ||
| proud parents of four children, Steve, Jim, Tom, and Tony, and with | ||
| the passing years, they were further blessed with four | ||
| granddaughters, Stephanie, Elisabeth, Olivia, and Sevene; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Cobbs found fulfillment in her career with the | ||
| Mineola Independent School District, where she worked as a | ||
| teacher's aide, librarian, and administrative assistant over the | ||
| course of nearly a quarter-century; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Active in her community, Mrs. Cobbs was a valued | ||
| congregant at the First United Methodist Church of Mineola; she was | ||
| also a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the local chapter of the Order of | ||
| the Eastern Star; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Jean Cobbs took immense joy in her loved ones and in | ||
| the time they spent together, and memories of her beautiful smile, | ||
| infectious laughter, and generosity of spirit will forever be | ||
| treasured by all who had the good fortune to know her; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jean Cobbs and extend | ||
| sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her husband, | ||
| John Cobbs; to her sons, Steve Cobbs, Jim Cobbs and his wife, Amy, | ||
| and Tom Cobbs and his wife, Rese; to her sisters, Betty Beauchamp | ||
| and Bobbie Saltzman; to her granddaughters, Stephanie, Elisabeth, | ||
| Olivia, and Sevene; and to her other relatives and many friends; | ||
| and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of | ||
| Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jean Cobbs. | ||
