| WHEREAS, Payton Freeman of White Deer High School achieved | ||
| great distinction by winning third place in the University | ||
| Interscholastic League 1A Boys Golf State Tournament, held May | ||
| 22-23, 2017, in Austin; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Competing alongside other top high school golfers in | ||
| Texas at Lions Municipal Golf Course, Mr. Freeman turned in a | ||
| notable performance, posting a two-day total of 150 strokes to | ||
| claim the bronze medal; he earned his place in this elite contest | ||
| with an impressive showing at the 1A Region I tournament in Lubbock, | ||
| where he also finished third; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Through hard work, skill, and an unwavering | ||
| commitment to excellence, this talented student-athlete has ably | ||
| represented his school and scored an impressive feat that he will | ||
| remember with pride for years to come; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Payton | ||
| Freeman on his third-place win at the 2017 UIL 1A Boys Golf State | ||
| Tournament and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued | ||
| success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Freeman as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
