BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 87th | ||
Texas Legislature, That the permanent rules of the House of | ||
Representatives of the 87th Legislature are amended as follows: | ||
(1) Rule 6, Section 20, is amended to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 20. TIME LIMIT FOR VOTE TO PLACE ON A CALENDAR. Within | ||
seven [ |

referred to the appropriate calendars committee, the committee must | ||
vote on whether to place the bill or resolution on one of the | ||
calendars of the daily house calendar or the local, consent, and | ||
resolutions calendar, as applicable. A vote against placement of | ||
the bill or resolution on a calendar does not preclude a calendars | ||
committee from later voting in favor of placement of the bill or | ||
resolution on a calendar. | ||
(2) Rule 6, Section 21(a), is amended to read as follows: | ||
(a) When a bill or resolution has been in the appropriate | ||
calendars committee for seven [ |

calendar day on which it was referred, awaiting placement on one of | ||
the calendars of the daily house calendar or on the local, consent, | ||
and resolutions calendar, it shall be in order for a member to move | ||
that the bill or resolution be placed on a specific calendar of the | ||
daily house calendar or on the local, consent, and resolutions | ||
calendar without action by the committee. This motion must be | ||
seconded by five members and shall require a majority vote for | ||
adoption. |
