| WHEREAS, In a demonstration of skill and determination, the | ||
| Evadale High School girls' basketball team enjoyed an outstanding | ||
| 2014-2015 season, capturing the District 24-2A championship and | ||
| advancing all the way to the regional semifinals of the University | ||
| Interscholastic League playoffs; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Lady Rebels excelled during the regular season, | ||
| going undefeated in their 12 games against league opponents to | ||
| claim the school's 13th district title in the past 14 years; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Evadale began the 2A playoffs with a resounding | ||
| 66-37 triumph against Carlisle High School in the area round and | ||
| went on to record a hard-fought 41-40 win over Tenaha; that victory | ||
| earned the Lady Rebels a spot in the regional semifinals, where | ||
| their season came to an end after they were narrowly defeated by | ||
| Hubbard High School; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Throughout the year, head coach Robert Hollyfield | ||
| provided able guidance to his team, and the players' solid | ||
| fundamentals and the unwavering commitment to excellence brought | ||
| them notable success on the hardwood; and | ||
| WHEREAS, By winning the district crown and proving themselves | ||
| strong playoff contenders, the members of the Evadale High School | ||
| Lady Rebels basketball team have become a source of pride for their | ||
| school and community, and they may take justifiable pride in a job | ||
| well done; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate the Evadale High School girls' | ||
| basketball team on its accomplishments during the 2014-2015 season | ||
| and extend to the team's players, coaches, and staff sincere best | ||
| wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
