| WHEREAS, The City of Dallas Sanitation Department's Waste | ||
| Diversion Team is hosting the Dallas Spring Recycling Round-up on | ||
| April 27, 2013; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Waste Diversion Team was created to educate | ||
| residents about waste reduction, increase the ease of recycling, | ||
| and minimize the overall environmental impact of the Dallas | ||
| community; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In an effort to prevent reusable items from | ||
| unnecessarily entering landfills, the team has organized a citywide | ||
| recycling collection on April 27; in what promises to be one of the | ||
| largest drives of its kind in North Texas, residents are encouraged | ||
| to bring scrap materials such as paper and packaging, along with | ||
| more difficult-to-recycle objects like appliances, electronics, | ||
| pharmaceuticals, clothing, and toys; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Sustaining the ecological well-being of our | ||
| communities requires responsibility and commitment, and | ||
| participants in the Dallas event can take pride in knowing that they | ||
| are helping to create a cleaner and healthier environment for all to | ||
| enjoy; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby recognize the valuable efforts of the Waste | ||
| Diversion Team in implementing the Dallas Spring Recycling Round-up | ||
| and encourage citizens to do their part to conserve natural | ||
| resources by participating in this and other such initiatives. | ||
