	H.R. No. 1544



	R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The City of Dallas Sanitation Department's Waste
	Diversion Team is hosting the Dallas Spring Recycling Round-up on
	April 27, 2013; and
	WHEREAS, The Waste Diversion Team was created to educate
	residents about waste reduction, increase the ease of recycling,
	and minimize the overall environmental impact of the Dallas
	community; and
	WHEREAS, In an effort to prevent reusable items from
	unnecessarily entering landfills, the team has organized a citywide
	recycling collection on April 27; in what promises to be one of the
	largest drives of its kind in North Texas, residents are encouraged
	to bring scrap materials such as paper and packaging, along with
	more difficult-to-recycle objects like appliances, electronics,
	pharmaceuticals, clothing, and toys; and
	WHEREAS, Sustaining the ecological well-being of our
	communities requires responsibility and commitment, and
	participants in the Dallas event can take pride in knowing that they
	are helping to create a cleaner and healthier environment for all to
	enjoy; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
	Legislature hereby recognize the valuable efforts of the Waste
	Diversion Team in implementing the Dallas Spring Recycling Round-up
	and encourage citizens to do their part to conserve natural
	resources by participating in this and other such initiatives.
