H.R. No. 1544

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, In a demonstration of admirable skill and
determination, Hunter Fritscher of Crawford High School turned in
an outstanding performance at the Texas High School Powerlifting
Association Region 2, Division 3, event in Riesel; and
WHEREAS, Facing off against the other lifters in the
165-pound class, Mr. Fritscher set a new regional record in the
squat with a lift of 550 pounds; he also bench-pressed 285 pounds
and deadlifted 465, for a total of 1,300 pounds, which tied him for
first place and qualified him for the THSPA State Championships;
and
WHEREAS, This talented athlete traveled to Abilene for the
state meet on March 26; there, he delivered another solid
performance, hoisting a total of 1,285 pounds to finish fourth in
his weight class; and
WHEREAS, By qualifying for a berth in the state tournament,
Hunter Fritscher proved that he can compete with the top high school
powerlifters in Texas, and this notable student-athlete may take
pride in a successful season; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Hunter Fritscher for his
achievements at the 2011 Texas High School Powerlifting Association
regional and state championship meets and extend to him sincere
best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Fritscher as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
