| WHEREAS, January 27, 2011, marks the 50th wedding anniversary | ||
| of Tony and Linda Gavin of Caddo Mills, and this joyous event | ||
| provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable | ||
| journey together as husband and wife; and | ||
| WHEREAS, High school and college sweethearts who both | ||
| graduated from Caddo Mills Independent School District and East | ||
| Texas State University, Mr. and Mrs. Gavin were joined in matrimony | ||
| in 1961 at a ceremony officiated by Pastor Charles Peters in Caddo | ||
| Mills; through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured | ||
| family that includes their children, Stacy Plasek and Steve Gavin | ||
| and his wife, Barbara, and one grandchild; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Gavin is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was | ||
| employed by Raytheon Systems; Mrs. Gavin is retired from public | ||
| education; in addition to meeting their career and family | ||
| responsibilities, they have dedicated much of their time to | ||
| community service, including work on the cemetery board; they enjoy | ||
| traveling cross-country in their RV, and Mr. Gavin plays golf three | ||
| times a week; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The 50 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Gavin have | ||
| shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and | ||
| commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who | ||
| know them; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Tony and Linda Gavin on their | ||
| golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes | ||
| for continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Gavin as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
