WHEREAS, January 27, 2011, marks the 50th wedding anniversary | ||
of Tony and Linda Gavin of Caddo Mills, and this joyous event | ||
provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable | ||
journey together as husband and wife; and | ||
WHEREAS, High school and college sweethearts who both | ||
graduated from Caddo Mills Independent School District and East | ||
Texas State University, Mr. and Mrs. Gavin were joined in matrimony | ||
in 1961 at a ceremony officiated by Pastor Charles Peters in Caddo | ||
Mills; through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured | ||
family that includes their children, Stacy Plasek and Steve Gavin | ||
and his wife, Barbara, and one grandchild; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Gavin is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was | ||
employed by Raytheon Systems; Mrs. Gavin is retired from public | ||
education; in addition to meeting their career and family | ||
responsibilities, they have dedicated much of their time to | ||
community service, including work on the cemetery board; they enjoy | ||
traveling cross-country in their RV, and Mr. Gavin plays golf three | ||
times a week; and | ||
WHEREAS, The 50 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Gavin have | ||
shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and | ||
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who | ||
know them; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate Tony and Linda Gavin on their | ||
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes | ||
for continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Gavin as an expression of high regard by | ||
the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
