WHEREAS, Employees of Methodist Dallas Medical Center and | ||
members of the local community are taking part in the 33rd Annual | ||
National Night Out crime and drug prevention observance on October | ||
4, 2016; and | ||
WHEREAS, By joining together in this important initiative, | ||
participants are raising awareness of crime and drug prevention | ||
strategies and encouraging support for anticrime programs while | ||
strengthening neighborhood spirit and police-community | ||
partnerships; and | ||
WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1984, National Night Out has | ||
grown to include more than 37 million people in the United States | ||
and Canada, and each year, Texans show their support through a | ||
variety of activities around the state; and | ||
WHEREAS, The Methodist Dallas Medical Center event provides | ||
an opportunity for hospital staff and area residents to educate | ||
themselves about crime prevention and to reaffirm their commitment | ||
to making their community an even safer place in which to live and | ||
work; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby commemorate the Methodist Dallas Medical Center | ||
National Night Out crime and drug prevention observance and extend | ||
to all those involved sincere best wishes for a productive and | ||
enjoyable event. | ||
