| WHEREAS, Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend received | ||
| three prestigious awards at the 16th annual Texas Workforce | ||
| Conference in Grapevine; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Led by president and chief executive officer Ken | ||
| Trevino, WFSCB provides locally designed, market-driven workforce | ||
| development initiatives for businesses and residents of a 12-county | ||
| region in southeastern Texas; and | ||
| WHEREAS, During the 2012 Workforce conference, WFSCB was | ||
| presented with the Service to Business Award for its soft skills | ||
| training curriculum entitled "Career Ready Workforce | ||
| Certification," the Workforce Investment Act Adult and Dislocated | ||
| Worker Employment Related to Training Incentive Award, and the | ||
| Claimant Reemployment Performance Incentive Award; monetary prizes | ||
| that accompany these honors will fund future WFSCB services and | ||
| programs; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Texas Workforce Commission also honored two | ||
| businesses that collaborate with WFSCB; Bay Ltd.--A Berry Company | ||
| received the Employer of the Year Award for working with WFSCB to | ||
| recruit job seekers interested in the petrochemical industry, and | ||
| Sterling Personnel, which utilizes WFSCB's services and space to | ||
| train and hire new employees, received the Local Employer of | ||
| Excellence Award; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend ensures that | ||
| employers and workers have the skills and resources necessary to | ||
| remain competitive, and the organization has earned distinction for | ||
| itself and its staff with its commitment to strengthening the | ||
| prosperity of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Workforce Solutions of the Coastal | ||
| Bend on its statewide recognition from the Texas Workforce | ||
| Commission and extend to the organization and its partners sincere | ||
| best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
