R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Those Texans who give freely of their time and
  talents to benefit the larger community make the world a better
  place through their actions and their example, and Ray and Zoie
  White of Amarillo are two such individuals; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated members of the Amarillo Downtown Lions
  Club, this husband and wife duo have served as Guiding Lions for the
  Borger Lions Club for the past two years, and they have each held a
  number of other leadership roles with Lions Clubs International;
  and
         WHEREAS, A former president of the Amarillo Area Law
  Enforcement Lions Club, Zoie White was named governor of the Lions
  Clubs of Texas District 2-T1 in 2010 after rising through the
  organization's ranks; she also served three consecutive terms as
  the district's extension chair, during which time she chartered
  three new local clubs, and she has played an instrumental role in
  commemorating the 100th anniversary of Lions Clubs International as
  the district centennial coordinator; she is the recipient of the Ed
  Flood Award and two International Presidential Awards; and
         WHEREAS, Ray White is a two-time president of the Amarillo
  Downtown Lions Club, and he has also contributed to the club as its
  bulletin editor; he was a member of the board of the High Plains Eye
  Bank for eight consecutive years and has held numerous positions
  for District 2-T1
  and multiple leadership roles at the club's state
  level; he has been honored with the Ed Flood Award, three
  International Presidential Awards, and an International Guiding
  Lion Award, and he is a 2017 Texas Lions Hall of Fame inductee; and
         WHEREAS, Ray and Zoie White have devoted themselves to making
  a meaningful difference through their involvement with Lions Clubs
  International, and they are indeed deserving of recognition for
  their myriad achievements; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Ray and Zoie White
  on their service to Lions Clubs International and extend to them
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. White as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
