	H.R. No. 140



	R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Kenneth and Barbara Acker of Lubbock celebrated
	their 55th wedding anniversary on July 19, 2013, and they may indeed
	reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared;
	and
	WHEREAS, Kenneth Acker and the former Barbara Stevenson
	exchanged the vows of matrimony in 1958, and over the course of
	their marriage, they have found in each other a loving life partner;
	and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Acker count among their blessings a
	fine family that includes two daughters, Renee Acker and Susi
	Bachmann-Strebel and her husband, Marco, and they also consider as
	part of their family 18 students who have been involved with the
	international organization, Youth for Understanding; and
	WHEREAS, For five and a half decades, Kenneth and Barbara
	Acker have brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and
	devotion, and it is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring
	commitment; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
	Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Kenneth and
	Barbara Acker on their 55th wedding anniversary and extend to them
	sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
	House of Representatives.
