| WHEREAS, Kenneth and Barbara Acker of Lubbock celebrated | ||
| their 55th wedding anniversary on July 19, 2013, and they may indeed | ||
| reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, Kenneth Acker and the former Barbara Stevenson | ||
| exchanged the vows of matrimony in 1958, and over the course of | ||
| their marriage, they have found in each other a loving life partner; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Acker count among their blessings a | ||
| fine family that includes two daughters, Renee Acker and Susi | ||
| Bachmann-Strebel and her husband, Marco, and they also consider as | ||
| part of their family 18 students who have been involved with the | ||
| international organization, Youth for Understanding; and | ||
| WHEREAS, For five and a half decades, Kenneth and Barbara | ||
| Acker have brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and | ||
| devotion, and it is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring | ||
| commitment; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Kenneth and | ||
| Barbara Acker on their 55th wedding anniversary and extend to them | ||
| sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
