| WHEREAS, The San Leon Municipal Utility District is hosting a | ||
| dedication ceremony on February 24, 2023, to name a water tower in | ||
| honor of the late Joseph Lynn Manchaca; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his community, Mr. Manchaca | ||
| served as president of San Leon MUD for 16 years, and under his able | ||
| leadership, the district secured funding for the area's water | ||
| tower; Mr. Manchaca also gave generously of his time and talents as | ||
| vice president of the Dwane Caldwell Military Scholarship and | ||
| Charity Foundation and as chaplain of the Sons of the American | ||
| Legion, and he was a lifetime member of the San Leon Fire | ||
| Department; in addition, he volunteered with the Sisters Helping | ||
| Sisters Brotherhood and with the San Leon Yard Birds; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Manchaca's professional achievements included | ||
| establishing his own vehicle repair shop, working for Satellite | ||
| Logistics Group, and serving as North American director of | ||
| warehouse operations for the international logistics firm | ||
| Hillebrand; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Joseph Lynn Manchaca set an | ||
| inspiring example of civic engagement and public service, and the | ||
| naming of the water tower in his honor is a fitting tribute to his | ||
| significant contributions; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby commemorate the dedication of the San Leon | ||
| Municipal Utility District water tower in memory of Joseph Lynn | ||
| Manchaca and commend all those involved in securing this | ||
| designation for their efforts. | ||
