| WHEREAS, LaTunya Austin received well-deserved recognition | ||
| when she was presented with an Excellence in Secondary Teaching | ||
| Award at the Plano Independent School District 2018 Teacher of the | ||
| Year Gala; and | ||
| WHEREAS, "Shanae" Austin has been a science teacher at Renner | ||
| Middle School for six years; in addition to serving as head of the | ||
| science department and leading the science fair, she has sponsored | ||
| a number of student organizations, including the National Junior | ||
| Honor Society, the Diamond Club, and the dance club; providing her | ||
| students with a nurturing yet challenging learning environment, she | ||
| encourages them to become critical thinkers and motivates them to | ||
| reach their full potential; furthermore, she has received a PTA | ||
| Honorary Life Membership Award in recognition of the positive | ||
| impact she has had on the district; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Shanae Austin exemplifies the passion, | ||
| determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our | ||
| best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all | ||
| in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Shanae Austin on her receipt of a | ||
| 2018 Plano ISD Excellence in Secondary Teaching Award and extend to | ||
| her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important | ||
| work; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Austin as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
