H.R. No. 1309

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Cynthia Flores of Lotspeich Elementary School has
been named a finalist for the 2016-2017 Elementary Teacher of the
Year in the Robstown Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
WHEREAS, A third grade teacher at Lotspeich Elementary,
Ms. Flores has been a member of the district faculty for 15 years, 8
of which she has spent as a lead teacher; in addition to ably
fulfilling her classroom duties, she serves as a University
Interscholastic League Destination Imagination coach, a sponsor
for student council, and a member of the District Educational
Improvement Council and the science fair liaison team; and
WHEREAS, Cynthia Flores exemplifies the passion,
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our
best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all
in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Cynthia Flores on her selection as
a finalist for the 2016-2017 Elementary Teacher of the Year in the
Robstown Independent School District and extend to her sincere best
wishes for continued success with her important work; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Flores as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
