R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
  mutual devotion and shared experiences, and M. E. "Jon" and Ila Jean
  Carothers of Crawford celebrated this joyous milestone in their
  marriage on March 3, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Carothers were joined in matrimony in
  1961 at a ceremony held in Abilene; through the years, they have
  been blessed with a treasured family that includes their son, Ken,
  and his wife, Angela, with whom they share the many special
  occasions of life; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of their marriage, Mr. Carothers
  worked for Texas Farm Bureau Insurance for 31 years and Mrs.
  Carothers was employed with Central Texas Iron Works and D & E
  Builders Supply; now enjoying a well-deserved retirement, they
  spend time pursuing their hobbies of woodworking and gardening; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Carothers have enjoyed five decades of
  abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Jon and Ila Jean Carothers on their
  50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Carothers as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
