| WHEREAS, The first annual Galveston Pickleball Championship | ||
| took place on July 26, 2025; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Organized by Trevor Gwynne, the tournament was held | ||
| at the McGuire-Dent Recreation Center, where 34 teams competed for | ||
| the championship title in single-elimination doubles rounds; the | ||
| winning squad received a trophy and new pickleball paddles while | ||
| earning considerable bragging rights; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In recent years, pickleball has grown into an | ||
| increasingly popular activity for individuals of all ages across | ||
| the Lone Star State, and the Galveston Pickleball Championship is | ||
| poised to become a beloved community tradition; now, therefore, be | ||
| it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commemorate the first | ||
| annual Galveston Pickleball Championship and extend sincere | ||
| appreciation to all those who helped bring the event to fruition. | ||
