R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Each year, more than 300 dedicated men and women and
  many area organizations volunteer their services for the Waco
  Center for Youth; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1979, the center is a residential
  treatment facility that serves teens with emotional and behavioral
  problems; it bases its treatment philosophy on the belief that an
  understanding of self and others is crucial for achieving long-term
  change; and
         WHEREAS, The Volunteer Services Council at the center
  provides goods, services, and personal attention for youths beyond
  the care and treatment provided by the state; by giving of their
  time and resources, volunteers help the teens to develop their
  skills and have a better chance for change; and
         WHEREAS, Through their support for the mission of the Waco
  Center for Youth, these outstanding volunteers are greatly
  benefiting many young people in the Lone Star State, and they are to
  be commended for their hard work and achievements; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the volunteers at the Waco Center for
  Youth and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future.
