| WHEREAS, The annual Mansfield Independent School District | ||
| Back-to-School Bash brings members of the community together for a | ||
| day of family fun that benefits students of all ages; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Among the many free items provided at the event are | ||
| backpacks filled with school supplies, shoes, and such health | ||
| services as sports physicals, immunizations, and eye exams; parents | ||
| have the opportunity to meet with campus representatives, and civic | ||
| groups and business representatives are on hand to provide | ||
| additional information about relevant services and products; | ||
| students can also participate in a variety of activities and games; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ably guided by superintendent Dr. Kimberley Cantu, | ||
| Mansfield ISD fosters a challenging and supportive learning | ||
| environment for a diverse and multicultural population of more than | ||
| 35,000 students; located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the | ||
| district encompasses 49 campuses that include prekindergarten, | ||
| STEM, and career and technology academies, an alternative education | ||
| center, and an early college high school; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Mansfield ISD Back-to-School Bash is a | ||
| much-anticipated celebration of a new school year, and the | ||
| district's outstanding reputation is a source of tremendous pride | ||
| for the community; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the annual | ||
| Mansfield Independent School District Back-to-School Bash and | ||
| extend to all those associated with the district sincere best | ||
| wishes for a successful school year; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mansfield ISD as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
