| WHEREAS, The current membership and more than 350 alumni of | ||
| Leadership Plainview contribute immeasurably to Hale County as | ||
| civic leaders and volunteers; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Established by the Plainview Chamber of Commerce in | ||
| 1984, this exceptional program provides opportunities for | ||
| participants to increase their knowledge of public issues and | ||
| infrastructure and to visit with the leaders who are making | ||
| decisions that affect their community; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The curriculum has been newly designed for the 27th | ||
| class to include training in business ethics, team building, and | ||
| stress and time management; courses also address such important | ||
| issues as agriculture, health care, arts and recreation, | ||
| transportation, banking and finance, education, and criminal | ||
| justice; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Through its efforts to build a more informed and | ||
| involved citizenry and to develop new leaders, Leadership Plainview | ||
| is helping to create a brighter and more promising future for the | ||
| Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby honor Leadership Plainview for its promotion of | ||
| civic leadership and volunteerism and extend to its participants | ||
| sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
