| WHEREAS, Residents are gathering on November 5, 2023, for the | ||
| annual Flower Mound Veterans Day Ceremony; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The event is taking place at Flower Mound High | ||
| School, and activities include a family picnic and a veterans | ||
| review, where members of local boys' and girls' scouting troops and | ||
| ROTC units will parade in uniform; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ceremonies will continue on November 10 with the | ||
| Veterans Day Relay Run, an event in which citizens and former | ||
| members of the military, including those representing the Flower | ||
| Mound Police and Fire Departments, run portions of a 31.8-mile | ||
| route while carrying the U.S. flag; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to the | ||
| men and women who have put their lives on the line in defense of our | ||
| safety and freedom, and the Flower Mound Veterans Day Ceremony is a | ||
| fitting tribute to their sacrifice and dedication to duty; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 2023 Flower | ||
| Mound Veterans Day Ceremony and extend to all those in attendance | ||
| sincere best wishes for a meaningful and memorable event. | ||
