| BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Article I, Texas Constitution, is amended by | ||
| adding Section 35 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 35. Nothing in this constitution shall be construed to | ||
| secure or protect the right to obtain an abortion or to require the | ||
| expenditure of public money for the performance of an abortion. | ||
| SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
| submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 2, 2021. | ||
| The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the | ||
| proposition: "The constitutional amendment clarifying the Texas | ||
| Constitution does not secure or protect the right to an abortion or | ||
| require the expenditure of public money for an abortion." | ||
