BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 9A, Article IX, Texas Constitution, is | ||
amended to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 9A. (a) The legislature by law may determine the | ||
health care services a hospital district is required to provide, | ||
the requirements a resident must meet to qualify for services, and | ||
any other relevant provisions necessary to regulate the provision | ||
of health care to residents. | ||
(b) A hospital district may not use tax revenue of the | ||
district to finance the performance of an abortion. | ||
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 8, 2011. | ||
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | ||
proposition: "The constitutional amendment to prohibit a hospital | ||
district from using tax revenue to finance the performance of an | ||
abortion." |
