| BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 2, Article VI, Texas Constitution, is | ||
| amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | ||
| (d) A person desiring to register to vote must submit an | ||
| application and proof of citizenship to the registrar of the county | ||
| in which the person resides. | ||
| SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
| submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025. | ||
| The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | ||
| proposition: "The constitutional amendment to require a person to | ||
| submit proof of citizenship to register to vote." | ||
