A JOINT RESOLUTION
  proposing a constitutional amendment providing for equality under
  the law regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.
         BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 3a, Article I, Texas Constitution, is
  amended to read as follows:
         Sec. 3a.  Equality under the law shall not be denied or
  abridged because of sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race,
  color, creed, or national origin.  This amendment is
  self-operative.
         SECTION 2.  This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
  submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 7, 2023.
  The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
  proposition: "The constitutional amendment providing for equality
  under the law regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation."
