| WHEREAS, Jack D. Hightower is being inducted into the | ||
| Petroleum Hall of Fame on April 10, 2025; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Based at the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum in | ||
| Midland, the Petroleum Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have | ||
| made outstanding contributions to the petroleum industry and set | ||
| inspiring examples of service, good character, and high | ||
| achievement; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A native of Odessa, Jack Hightower began working in | ||
| the West Texas oil fields as a teenager, and he went on to graduate | ||
| from Texas Tech University; over the course of a remarkable career | ||
| spanning more than five decades, he has established numerous | ||
| successful companies, among them Titan Exploration LLC, Pure | ||
| Resources LP, and HighPeak Energy; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A longtime leader in his field, Mr. Hightower played | ||
| a key role in advancing directional and horizontal drilling | ||
| technologies in the Permian Basin; he has also made a significant | ||
| impact in the Midland community, contributing to the growth of | ||
| business infrastructure and educational opportunities, while | ||
| supporting philanthropic efforts that have totaled nearly $100 | ||
| million; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Through his hard work and commitment to innovation, | ||
| Jack Hightower has distinguished himself as a successful and | ||
| influential figure in an industry that is such a vital part of the | ||
| Texas economy, and he is truly deserving of this prestigious honor; | ||
| now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas | ||
| hereby congratulate Jack D. Hightower on his induction into the | ||
| Petroleum Hall of Fame and extend to him sincere best wishes for the | ||
| future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Hightower as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives and Senate. | ||
