HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their |
|
|
memories of Frank Ronald Galitski of Amarillo, who passed away on |
|
|
July 19, 2017, at the age of 81; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Frank Galitski was born in Mount Carmel, |
|
|
Pennsylvania, on December 3, 1935, to Frank and Jean Galitski, and |
|
|
he grew up with a brother, Jim, and a sister, Patricia; after |
|
|
graduating from high school, he answered his nation's call to duty |
|
|
and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In 1958, Mr. Galitski married the former Annette |
|
|
Blazina, with whom he shared 55 years before her death; the couple |
|
|
were blessed with three children, Frank, Linda, and John; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of a long and successful career in |
|
|
the aviation industry, Mr. Galitski specialized in rotary wing |
|
|
aircraft, starting at Sikorsky Aircraft and retiring from Bell |
|
|
Helicopter; his job allowed him to travel, and he and his wife |
|
|
visited such well-known sites as Stonehenge, the Acropolis, the |
|
|
Colosseum, the Panama Canal, and the Amazon River, as well as many |
|
|
other places in Europe, Asia, and the South Pacific; they also lived |
|
|
for a time in Tehran, Iran, and in Chinhae, South Korea; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An avid reader, Mr. Galitski also enjoyed cheering |
|
|
on the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers; he especially |
|
|
delighted in spending time with his grandchildren, Daniel, |
|
|
Elizabeth, Gina, Steven, Anna, Jarrott, Chelsea, and Dakkota, and |
|
|
his great-grandchild, Tayton; he was also a devout Catholic and an |
|
|
active member of Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish and the Serra Club; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Frank Galitski lived a life that was rich in |
|
|
personal and professional achievements, and he leaves behind a |
|
|
record of service that his loved ones can remember with pride; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the 85th Legislature of the State of Texas, |
|
|
1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Frank Ronald |
|
|
Galitski and extend heartfelt sympathy to his relatives and many |
|
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of |
|
|
Frank Galitski. |
