H.C.R. No. 150

HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Words cannot express the heartache felt at the loss
of U.S. Army Sergeant Enrique Mondragon of The Colony, who died
while bravely serving his country on December 24, 2012, at the age
of 23; and
WHEREAS, Assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters
Detachment, 173rd Special Troops Battalion, 173rd Airborne Brigade
Combat Team, Bamberg, Germany, Sergeant Mondragon lost his life in
Baraki Barak, Afghanistan; and
WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to this
nation's servicemen and servicewomen, who make immeasurable
sacrifices for their country and who risk their very lives in its
behalf; and
WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed
forces, Enrique Mondragon inspired others with his fortitude,
tenacity, and courage; although his death leaves a void in the lives
of his loved ones, they will forever carry memories of this heroic
Texan close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the 83rd Legislature of the State of Texas
hereby pay tribute to the life of Sergeant Enrique Mondragon and
extend sincere sympathy to all those who mourn his passing; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
U.S. Army Sergeant Enrique Mondragon.
