| relating to administrative penalties assessed or imposed against | ||
| certain hospitals and reported to certain health professional | ||
| licensing boards. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 241.059, Health and Safety Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Subsection (i-1) to read as follows: | ||
| (i-1) Not later than the 30th day after the date an order | ||
| issued under this section is final, the department shall forward a | ||
| copy of the order to the appropriate licensing board of a health | ||
| care professional licensed under Title 3, Occupations Code, who the | ||
| department finds to be materially involved in the violation. The | ||
| licensing board shall retain a copy of the order in the health care | ||
| professional's file. The copy of the order is confidential to the | ||
| extent required by law. | ||
| SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | ||
| to the assessment or imposition of an administrative penalty under | ||
| Section 241.059, Health and Safety Code, for a violation that | ||
| occurs on or after the effective date of this Act. The assessment | ||
| or imposition of an administrative penalty under Section 241.059, | ||
| Health and Safety Code, for a violation that occurs before the | ||
| effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the | ||
| date the violation occurred, and that law is continued in effect for | ||
| that purpose. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | ||
