relating to requiring the secretary of state to maintain certain | ||
information regarding provisional voting. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 18.069, Election Code, is amended to | ||
read as follows: | ||
Sec. 18.069. VOTING HISTORY. (a) Not later than the 30th | ||
day after the date of the primary, runoff primary, or general | ||
election or any special election ordered by the governor, the | ||
registrar shall electronically submit to the secretary of state the | ||
record of each voter participating in the election. The record | ||
must include a notation of whether the voter: | ||
(1) voted on election day;[ |
||
(2) voted early by personal appearance;[ |
||
(3) voted early by mail under Chapter 86;[ |
||
(4) voted early by mail under Chapter 101; or | ||
(5) voted provisionally and the reason the voter cast | ||
a provisional ballot. | ||
(b) The secretary of state shall adopt rules to implement | ||
this section. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
