| relating to the director and assistant director of the Texas | ||
| Military Preparedness Commission. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 436.057, Government Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsections (a-1), (b), and (d) to read as follows: | ||
| (a-1) The commission shall, subject to approval of the | ||
| governor, hire an assistant director to assist the director in the | ||
| performance of the administrative duties of the commission. | ||
| (b) The commission, in hiring the director and the assistant | ||
| director, shall consider applicants who have significant and | ||
| extensive experience and knowledge relating to military | ||
| installation operations, the defense industry, and the United | ||
| States Department of Defense, including retired senior military | ||
| officers from any branch of the armed forces of the United States. | ||
| (d) The director may not hold another position in the office | ||
| of the governor. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | ||
