| relating to the categories of performance for which a public school | ||
| campus may receive a distinction designation. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 39.203(c), Education Code, is amended to | ||
| read as follows: | ||
| (c) In addition to the distinction designations described | ||
| by Subsections (a) and (b), a campus that satisfies the criteria | ||
| developed under Section 39.204 shall be awarded a distinction | ||
| designation by the commissioner for the following programs or the | ||
| following specific categories of performance: | ||
| (1) academic achievement in English language arts, | ||
| mathematics, science, or social studies; | ||
| (2) fine arts; | ||
| (3) physical and health education and wellness; | ||
| (4) 21st Century Workforce Development program; and | ||
| (5) second language acquisition program. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
