relating to requirements for certain human sexuality instruction | ||
presentations in public schools. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 28.004, Education Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsection (e-1) to read as follows: | ||
(e-1) A human sexuality instruction presentation provided | ||
by an individual or entity that is not affiliated with the school | ||
district may not be provided unless the local school health | ||
advisory council has evaluated and approved the presentation and | ||
the individual or entity providing the presentation. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2011-2012 | ||
school year. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
