| care services provided by a chiropractor. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 32.024, Human Resources Code, is amended | ||
| by adding Subsection (kk) to read as follows: | ||
| (kk) The department shall provide medical assistance | ||
| reimbursement to a chiropractor participating in the medical | ||
| assistance program for the provision of a health care service to a | ||
| recipient of medical assistance if: | ||
| (1) the chiropractor is licensed to practice | ||
| chiropractic in this state; | ||
| (2) the chiropractor is authorized to provide the | ||
| service as part of the practice of chiropractic; and | ||
| (3) the service is otherwise covered under the medical | ||
| assistance program. | ||
| SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act | ||
| a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a | ||
| federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision, | ||
| the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or | ||
| authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the | ||
| waiver or authorization is granted. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | ||
