| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 21.0112, Property Code, is amended by | ||
| amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c) to read as | ||
| follows: | ||
| (b) The statement must [ |
||
| (1) be printed in an easily readable font and type | ||
| size; and | ||
| (2) if the entity is a governmental entity: | ||
| (A) be [ |
||
| of the entity if technologically feasible; and | ||
| (B) include a provision informing the property | ||
| owner that the entity is required to provide all documents and | ||
| written information required under this chapter to be provided to | ||
| the property owner printed in English, Spanish, or any other | ||
| language requested by the property owner. | ||
| (c) A governmental entity shall provide to a property owner | ||
| all documents and written information required under this chapter | ||
| to be provided to the property owner printed in English, Spanish, or | ||
| any other language requested by the property owner. | ||
| SECTION 2. The changes in law made by Section 21.0112, | ||
| Property Code, as amended by this Act, apply only to a condemnation | ||
| in which the final offer is made by a governmental entity on or | ||
| after the effective date of this Act. A condemnation in which the | ||
| final offer is made before the effective date of this Act is | ||
| governed by the law in effect on the date the offer was made, and the | ||
| former law is continued in effect for that purpose. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
