relating to the exception to disclosure under the public | ||
information law of certain personal information contained in a | ||
citation issued for a violation of a state traffic law or local | ||
traffic ordinance. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 552, Government Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 552.1305 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 552.1305. EXCEPTION: CERTAIN PERSONAL INFORMATION | ||
FROM TRAFFIC VIOLATION RECORDS. Information contained in a | ||
citation issued for a violation of a state traffic law or local | ||
traffic ordinance is excepted from the requirements of Section | ||
552.021 if the information is the home address or personal | ||
telephone number of the person who is the subject of a citation. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
