| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 251.153(c), Utilities Code, is amended | ||
| to read as follows: | ||
| (c) Not later than two hours after the time the notification | ||
| center receives a notice of intent to excavate from an excavator or | ||
| from a different notification center, the notification center shall | ||
| notify: | ||
| (1) each member operator that may have an underground | ||
| facility in the vicinity of the proposed excavation operation; and | ||
| (2) each owner of land in the proposed area of | ||
| excavation. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
