A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the dissolution of certain bail bond boards.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 1704, Occupations Code, is
  amended by adding Section 1704.057 to read as follows:
         Sec. 1704.057.  DISSOLUTION OF CERTAIN BAIL BOND BOARDS.
  (a) A bail bond board may be dissolved in a county with a population
  between 64,000 and 65,000 that is adjacent to a county in which a
  geriatric prison facility is located if:
               (1)  a majority of the members of the board determine to
  dissolve the board; and
               (2)  the commissioners court approves the dissolution
  of the board by a majority vote.
         (b)  Chapter 17, Code of Criminal Procedure, governs the
  taking of bail in a county in which the bail bond board has been
  dissolved.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
