| relating to the dissolution of certain bail bond boards. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 1704, Occupations Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 1704.057 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 1704.057. DISSOLUTION OF CERTAIN BAIL BOND BOARDS. | ||
| (a) A bail bond board may be dissolved in a county with a population | ||
| between 64,000 and 65,000 that is adjacent to a county in which a | ||
| geriatric prison facility is located if: | ||
| (1) a majority of the members of the board determine to | ||
| dissolve the board; and | ||
| (2) the commissioners court approves the dissolution | ||
| of the board by a majority vote. | ||
| (b) Chapter 17, Code of Criminal Procedure, governs the | ||
| taking of bail in a county in which the bail bond board has been | ||
| dissolved. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
