| relating to voting eligibility requirements for members of a | ||
| metropolitan planning organization policy board. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 472, Transportation Code, | ||
| is amended by adding Section 472.035 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 472.035. POLICY BOARD MEMBER VOTING ELIGIBILITY IN | ||
| CERTAIN COUNTIES. To be eligible to be a voting member of a | ||
| metropolitan planning organization policy board that serves a | ||
| county with a population of more than 1.7 million and in which more | ||
| than 75 percent of the population resides in a single municipality, | ||
| a member must be an elected official or a member of the board of a | ||
| metropolitan rapid transit authority under Chapter 451. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
