| to low-fenced acreage. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter L, Chapter 43, Parks and Wildlife | ||
| Code, is amended by adding Section 43.3635 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 43.3635. RELEASE BY CERTAIN DEER BREEDING FACILITIES | ||
| TO LOW-FENCED ACREAGE. (a) A deer breeding facility with the | ||
| highest status transfer category as determined by commission rule | ||
| may release breeder deer to a low-fenced site that: | ||
| (1) includes at least 5,000 acres of contiguous land; | ||
| and | ||
| (2) is within 200 miles of the deer breeding facility. | ||
| (b) The commission shall adopt rules governing a release of | ||
| breeder deer under this section. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
