| electricity in advertisements and contracts. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 39.101, Utilities Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (i) to read as follows: | ||
| (i) A retail electric provider, power generation company, | ||
| aggregator, or other entity that provides residential retail | ||
| electric service shall provide in its advertisements and contracts | ||
| the total cost of its residential retail service, including | ||
| transmission and service provider distribution charges, pole | ||
| charges, pass-through charges, and any other charges that may be | ||
| charged on a customer's bill in addition to the cost per kilowatt | ||
| hour. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
