BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 411.173(b), Government Code, is amended | ||
to read as follows: | ||

SECTION 2. Sections 411.173(c) and (d), Government Code, | ||
are repealed. | ||
SECTION 3. As soon as practicable after the effective date | ||
of this Act, the governor and the Department of Public Safety shall | ||
take all appropriate actions to revoke, rescind, cancel, or modify | ||
any agreements or proclamations that exist on the effective date of | ||
this Act and are inconsistent with the changes in law made by this | ||
Act. | ||
SECTION 4. A handgun license that is issued by another state | ||
and valid on August 31, 2021, is recognized in this state until the | ||
agreement or proclamation authorizing the recognition of that | ||
license is revoked, rescinded, canceled, or modified as required by | ||
this Act. | ||
SECTION 5. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
