| relating to the use of the Texas Enterprise Fund for veterans | ||
| hospitals. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 481.078, Government Code, is amended by | ||
| amending Subsection (c) and adding Subsection (d-1) to read as | ||
| follows: | ||
| (c) Except as provided by Subsections [ |
||
| (d-1), the fund may be used only for economic development, | ||
| infrastructure development, community development, job training | ||
| programs, and business incentives. | ||
| (d-1) The fund may be used for the establishment, | ||
| maintenance, or operation of veterans hospitals in this state. | ||
| Subsections (e-1), (f), (g), (h), (i), and (j) and Section 481.080 | ||
| do not apply to a grant awarded for a purpose specified by this | ||
| subsection. | ||
| SECTION 2. Section 481.079, Government Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: | ||
| (a-1) For grants awarded for a purpose specified by Section | ||
| 481.078(d-1), the report must include only the amount and purpose | ||
| of each grant. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
