relating to the availability on the Internet of personal financial | ||
statements filed by certain state officeholders. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 572, Government Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 572.0321 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 572.0321. AVAILABILITY OF CERTAIN STATEMENTS ON | ||
INTERNET. (a) The commission shall make available to the public on | ||
the commission's Internet website each financial statement filed | ||
under this subchapter by the following persons: | ||
(1) a member of the legislature; | ||
(2) an executive or judicial officer elected in a | ||
statewide election; and | ||
(3) a member of the State Board of Education. | ||
(b) The commission shall make a financial statement | ||
described in Subsection (a) available on the commission's Internet | ||
website not later than the 10th business day after the date the | ||
statement is filed. | ||
(c) The commission shall remove the home address of an | ||
individual from a financial statement filed by the individual under | ||
this subchapter before posting the statement on the commission's | ||
Internet website under this section. | ||
(d) Notwithstanding Section 572.032(c), the commission may | ||
not remove a financial statement described in Subsection (a) from | ||
the commission's Internet website before the 10th anniversary of | ||
the date the commission makes the statement available on the | ||
commission's Internet website. | ||
SECTION 2. Section 572.0321, Government Code, as added by | ||
this Act, applies only to a financial statement filed under | ||
Subchapter B, Chapter 572, Government Code, that is due on or after | ||
September 1, 2015. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
