| relating to the execution of a warrant issued for certain releasees | ||
| who violate a condition of release on parole or to mandatory | ||
| supervision. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 508, Government Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 508.2525 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 508.2525. WARRANT FOR CERTAIN VIOLATIONS OF | ||
| SUPER-INTENSIVE SUPERVISION PROGRAM. A law enforcement agency | ||
| shall execute, as soon as practicable, a warrant that is directed to | ||
| the agency and issued for the return of a releasee in the | ||
| super-intensive supervision program based on a violation of a | ||
| condition of parole or mandatory supervision related to the | ||
| electronic monitoring of the releasee. | ||
| SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | ||
| to an arrest warrant that is issued on or after the effective date | ||
| of this Act. An arrest warrant that was issued before the effective | ||
| date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the | ||
| warrant was issued, and the former law is continued in effect for | ||
| that purpose. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. | ||
